The Faculty of Science at Yarmouk University hosted female students from the International Summit Academy, grades nine and ten, in a scientific visit aimed at introducing them to the available scientific majors and enhancing their interest in academic pathways in the fields of physics and life sciences.
The visit included a scientific tour of the faculty’s facilities. In the Department of Life Sciences, the students explored several specialized laboratories and learned about modern techniques used in microbiology, cell biology, and biotechnology, in addition to gaining insight into laboratory work and the fundamentals of scientific research.
In the Department of Physics, the students visited the mechanics and fluid laboratories, where they received simplified scientific explanations supported by practical experiments on the laws of motion and fluid behavior. They also visited the optics laboratory, where they learned about the principles of image formation and the functioning of optical devices such as microscopes and telescopes, through practical and interactive applications.
The visit was enriched with a variety of interactive scientific activities that allowed the students to participate in conducting experiments and asking questions, along with an introductory presentation about the majors offered by the faculty and their future prospects.
At the conclusion of the visit, the students expressed their happiness with this valuable scientific experience, which contributed to enhancing their knowledge and nurturing their interest in scientific disciplines.
