The Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions has decided to appoint Dr. Rashid Abdul Karim Jaradat, from the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the university, as a member of the committee tasked with reviewing and developing curricula for basic science disciplines in Jordanian universities.
This selection comes within an elite committee chaired by Professor Mahmoud Al-Rifai from Jordan University of Science and Technology, and includes representatives from leading Jordanian universities.
The Commission has entrusted the committee, in which Dr. Jaradat participates, with strategic responsibilities aimed at enhancing graduates’ competencies and aligning their education with global requirements. Among the key tasks are:
- Reviewing the current curricula in basic science disciplines.
- Identifying educational needs related to digital skills and English language proficiency relevant to the field.
- Establishing academic standards to integrate these modern concepts into courses.
- Developing mechanisms to train faculty members and strengthen both their skills and those of students to obtain professional and micro-certifications.
This selection reflects the confidence in the academic expertise of Yarmouk University and its active role in shaping the future of higher education in the Kingdom, by contributing to the creation of a timeline for implementing the proposed updates that ensure the quality of educational outcomes.
