Under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Moheeb Awawdeh, the Department of Chemistry, in cooperation with the Department of Basic Sciences at the Faculty of Science, Yarmouk University, organized an introductory lecture entitled “Modern Analytical Techniques and Instruments”. The event was held in the Adnan Badran Auditorium at the Faculty of Science, with the attendance of distinguished faculty members, researchers, postgraduate students, and undergraduate students. The workshop was moderated by Dr. Tareq Al-Shboul, Head of the Department of Basic Sciences.
The keynote speaker, Dr. Fadi Younes, Regional Director for the Middle East and South Africa at Analytik Jena (Germany), presented the latest developments in analytical instruments and advanced techniques used in research and industrial laboratories. He highlighted their role in enhancing the efficiency of scientific analyses, improving the accuracy of results, and creating opportunities to support scientific research and develop diverse applications in chemistry and applied sciences.
He also addressed the importance of partnerships between academic institutions and the industrial sector, emphasizing their role in strengthening the research environment and providing cutting-edge solutions and technologies that contribute to advancing both education and research.
Participants stressed the importance of keeping pace with rapid developments in modern analytical instruments, given their direct impact on supporting the quality of scientific research and enabling researchers to conduct advanced studies in line with the highest international standards.
This event comes as part of the Faculty of Science and the Department of Chemistry’s efforts to enrich students’ and researchers’ scientific knowledge, acquaint them with the latest technological advancements in analytical and measurement sciences, and enhance their research skills by linking academic learning with modern practical applications.
