Professor Ahmad Al-Salman from the Department of Mathematics succeeded in solving an open mathematical problem that had remained unsolved since 1992. This achievement is the result of more than twenty-seven years of dedicated research, during which he contributed to addressing and resolving part of one of the most challenging problems in harmonic analysis—a problem that had posed a significant challenge to leading mathematicians over the past decades. The ideas and methods presented in this research are expected to advance studies on Rough Oscillatory Singular Integral Operators and open new horizons in this vital area of harmonic analysis, serving as a motivation for researchers and graduate students to pursue further investigation in this important branch of mathematics.
On this occasion, the Faculty of Science congratulates Professor Al-Salman on this achievement, which was published in one of the prestigious mathematics journals, Forum Mathematicum, under the title “On Rough Oscillatory Singular Integral Operators.”
It is worth noting that Professor Al-Salman has been a member of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) since 2019, having been selected in recognition of his valuable scientific contributions to mathematics. The Academy’s core mission is to strengthen scientific capacity and excellence for sustainable development in developing countries.
