Team Overview

Under the patronage of Dr. Mohammad Al-Qadri, the team was established with a clear vision aimed at raising awareness of data science by organizing educational and statistical activities within both the university community and the local community. The team seeks to connect scientific knowledge with practical applications through extracurricular educational activities, volunteer work, and outreach programs designed to serve society, develop students’ skills, and strengthen their role in community engagement.


Team Objectives

  • Highlight students’ scientific and practical interests inside and outside the college.
  • Expand community knowledge of statistics and its applications.
  • Integrate academic learning with volunteer and community activities.

About the Initiative

The Student Statistics Team Initiative “Vision of the Future” is a student-led effort that aims to raise awareness within the university community and the local community about the importance of statistics and to open new horizons of knowledge in this field. The initiative focuses on introducing everyone—not only students—to the nature of statistics and its applications in academic and practical life, with an emphasis on activities both inside and outside the university.

 

Objectives of the Initiative

  • Organize extracurricular activities to introduce the university community—including students, administrative staff, and students of the model school—to data science and statistics.

  • Carry out volunteer work, such as visits to hospitals, charitable organizations, and orphaned children, in order to promote the value of volunteerism, integrate it with different segments of society, and raise awareness of data science and statistics and their importance.

  • Introduce local community institutions to data science and statistics, highlighting their role in supporting decision-making and solving societal problems.

  • Encourage students and members of the university community to actively participate in scientific and volunteer activities, linking theoretical knowledge with practical application to serve society.

 

Vision of the Initiative

The initiative seeks to build a university and local community that is aware of data science and statistics, capable of employing them to understand reality, make data-driven decisions, and promote a culture of volunteerism grounded in knowledge.

 

Events and Activities

  • 20/10: World Statistics Day – The team participated in organizing events to highlight the importance of statistics.

  • 11/11: International Women’s Day – The team contributed to activities aimed at supporting and empowering women inside and outside the college.

  • 27/1: Artificial Intelligence Workshop – Focused on integrating data and statistics with artificial intelligence technologies.

  • 23/12: CV Workshop – Aimed at developing students’ professional skills and linking statistics to labor market needs.

 

Target Groups

Beneficiaries of the initiative include:

  • University students.

  • The local community and schools.

 

Future Plans

  • Upcoming workshops and events.

  • Partnerships with local institutions or other universities.

  • Programs to develop students’ skills in data science and statistics.
