On Monday, June 2, 2025, the Faculty of Science at Yarmouk University, under the supervision of Dr. Rabia Rawashdeh, organized a screening of a science fiction film titled "Attack of the Wasps". The event took place in Adnan Badran Auditorium within the college building, and was attended by students enrolled in the courses "Biotechnology" and "Biosafety and Bioethics."
The film explored the effects of genetic mutations on the traits of living organisms and highlighted the potential environmental and health risks associated with genetic manipulation. The screening provided students with an opportunity to engage in critical thinking about contemporary scientific issues related to biotechnology.
Following the film, an interactive scientific discussion was held with the students on the film's topic. Questions and comments enriched the dialogue, helping deepen understanding of concepts related to genetic modification and its applications, as well as the ethical aspects involved.
