Statistics Department visit to Agricultural Research Station

The Statistics Department coordinated a scientific trip to the agricultural research station and the non-conventional water station, in which the importance of using statistics in designing and analyzing experiments in the agricultural field and its major role in the progress and development of the agricultural field was discussed.

Statistical techniques allow agricultural engineers to monitor various agricultural factors, such as changes in land, crop distribution, and climate forecasts. Other factors that enable decision makers to direct efforts and resources more effectively, which in turn contributes to increasing farm productivity and improving crop quality.

The contribution of statistics in analyzing, estimating prices, forecasting demand and supply in the agricultural market, helps decision-makers to develop effective, sustainable agricultural policies and enhance confidence in the agricultural sector, also supporting the decision-making process by freezing costs and time and improving productivity, as Its strength lies in predicting future results and understanding the factors affecting the growth of agricultural and other crops.

An extended sincere thanks from the Department of Statistics, represented by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Amjad D. Al-Nasser, to the Agricultural Research Station and the Non-Conventional Water Station for their hospitality as well the valuable information and explaining examples of experiments in which statistics were used in designing and analyzing data to produce results for decision-making regarding the research topic.

We also extend our thanks to Dr. Osama Miqdadi, Dr. Hamza Al-Rawashdeh, Dr. Suhail Al-Batayneh, Engineer Abdullah Al-Issa, Engineer Ahmed Abu Dalo, Engineer Badr Al-Omari, Engineer Ahmed Al-Batayneh, and everyone who contributed to facilitating this trip.
